For $35... or even $45 (for non teachers/students).. I'd def get one.

But I got to play with some of the next gen cheap ass chinese tablets.... they're getting DAMN close to the big boys in terms of quality... one of the ones I played with had a Cortex A9 processor and the touch screen now actually works on a similar level to the Galaxy Tab etc...
 
It's not likely you'd convince the Indian Government to sponsor you a Tab (they subsidise them).
