Infatuated by China

Quick question to the anti-China people, where will SA get its much needed FDI if not from China? I doubt its going to materialise from Europe or the US, IMO.

How about OUR government creates the jobs OUR country needs, instead of relying on other countries to do that for us? You know, like the West has been doing for centuries? I know it's a revolutionary concept, but please consider it.

There is plenty of people that wants to create jobs in this country, maybe if our government laxes some laws and let the market trade like they suppose to the jobs will follow.

Blocking things like Wal-mart deals is not helping.

COSATU claim they want prosperity, but at the same time they get the ANC to push through laws that discourage employment via completely unreasonable employee protectionism. You can't have your bread buttered on both sides, and you can't have a free market economy when firing people who are obviously incompetent is more effort and cost than waiting for them to resign.

And where exactly do you suggest we sell the goods we manufacture? Markets where they are scalling back on spending. Developing markets are the future and they dont come bigger than China ;)
