I would like to know if there is someone out here that can explain to me how internet tv works please?

I am looking to give dstv a kick under the butt paying so much money for nothing to watch.

Can someone please explain to me?

My pleasure, how good is your ADSL?
You will need at least 4096Kbps to run streaming and a decent ISP that doesn't pull shady moves.

Good starting point as you can already just install the Netflix / Hulu and other streaming apps on your console. Search the forums you'll find many articles on this. The highly recommended one stop shop with regards to this is Unotelly

Just a warning ,if you don't have a xbox live (gold) subscription (and i assume you don't since you don't have internet yet) you cant use the Netflix app on the xbox yet. It will be free with the update that comes out on 09 June - Also you will need to do few changes to download the app (create a US or UK account and change your location to same to get the app).
Just check through the forums here on MYBB (Or Unotelly as you will inevitably need that) to get more info on setting up Netflix its not difficult just not very straight forward either.
