Information Regulator investigating ANC data breach

The Information Regulator of South Africa has written to the African National Congress (ANC) to ascertain whether it was recently breached and whether private data belonging to members was leaked.

If the ANC did not adequately disclose a breach and theft of personal information to the regulator, it could be found in contravention of Section 22 of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
