I heard that the cellphone sagem myz-5 can talk to a pc via infra red.

What do I need for my pc to have this

Thanks

You can buy external USB IR dongles similar to this - http://sewelldirect.com/usbtoirda.asp

btw - that link was just a random one I got from google to give you an idea. There are plenty of others available.

yeah IR is line of sight and very slow, oh and dnt even breath while transfering stuff. Last I bought a IR dongle it was R130 and came with a USB ext cable to route it to the front of the pc. Its painfull tho.

I don't suppose there is an alternative if a phone is not b/tooth enabled ?

Any thoughts

Most laptops have IR built in, most desktops don't afaik, but you can get a USB to IR adaptor. I've been using IR for years between my old Palm and my old cellphone and various notebooks. Not fast but pretty good.

Does it not have blue tooth ? IR is a pain in the rear.
IR isnt a pain - it might be line of sight and slower than bluetooth but for a desktop its not going to make much much difference.
