Inmates at an East Yorkshire jail have life so comfortable they refused the chance to escape, a prison office union has revealed.
Glyn Travis, of the Prison Officers Association, said a drug dealer regularly broke into Everthorpe Prison, between North Cave and South Cave, using a ladder, to carry out deals.
But Mr Travis said no inmate tried to use the ladder to get out.
The security breaches came to light in January.
Mr Travis said: "It tells me something is wrong in society when people are breaking in to prisons to bring in drugs, but the prisoners are quite happy to stay inside."
The Prison Service said the inmates were never in a position to escape.
