Ink Smudging?!??!

Hey all sorry I didn't know where to turn since it seems like I am the only person with this stupid problem..

I am having problems with my Canon IP4700. When I print on the DVD's (Verbatim Printable ones, the orange spindle) The ink smudges when I touch it , even after a full day of drying. I have asked everywhere an no one seems to know what I am on about.

Now let me explain how bad it is, when I simply touch the DVD surface the ink smudges, not deliberately trying to smudge the ink.

I have been told to adjust the printer settings to use less ink but the problem still persists, please is there anyone that can help me?

I assume you are using original Canon ink cartridges and not generics?

Orange spindle? Mine are predominantly blue...

NomNom, do the CD's have a "paper-like" texture at the top, or is it just white plastic?

Yeah pretty much, I think that the ink Canon uses is substitutable to water, more than other inks, hence the smudging. So what have we learned today? Get the correct media for the job
