Insert SIM message after changing battery

i am gettin a strange message whenever i change batteries. I bought an extended battery for the N96 to use the "wegolf" function i downloaded as the GPS chows the normal battery. But upon turning the device on again, it boots to an Offline message and when i try and change it to General, it say's "Insert SIM "

It has the latest software and all updates have been done. Please help

In all probability it's the SIM card holder in the phone that's not working 100%. Most S60 Nokias default to Offline mode if they cannot find a SIM card at boot, so that part is completely normal. Since the phone needs a SIM for the General profile it will tell you that the card is missing as soon as you switch profiles.
