Hi There,

I have a P7100 Samsung Galaxy tab, been running smoothly for just under a year now, but I have noticed that the tab is struggling(failing) to install any new apps, and only seems to be able to update some apps, while others just fail.

I have tried rebooting it a couple times, as well as clearing the cache for the market app. I have downloaded some games from tpb, would that have caused any issues? or maybe a system file has been deleted? There is still about 8gb of space so that shouldnt be an issue.

When I click install, it pops up with the allow access window, I click ok. It then appears in the downloading section for a couple of seconds, then goes down to the bottom in the "not installed" section. updates do the same, also if I try remove a program, it just goes to the "not installed" section.

Anyone experienced this before? Any Advice?

Try clearing the download cache, not just the market cache i.e. both.

Not sure about the storage structure. But make sure you have double the storage space on the internal memory available.

Quick system info is a nice way to check.

Does it matter what size of app if being updated?

Hi Nadimm,

Just deleted browser download cache, and cleared history.

If I go to settings>storage I see the following:

total 14.12GB
Media 3.92GB
Apps 1.41GB
Available 8.78GB

I have also just deleted about a gig's worth of photos and still no luck. Things that wont update: angry birds, kindle, fruit ninja. Things that have updated: Adobe flash player, gun bros. I've tried installing lots of different apps, none of which seem to want to install. The only thing I can think of is installing all these paid for apps I got off tpb, either that or a system file may have been deleted. hmm is there no program that can check the system integrity of a droid?

1. Your storage values seem to refer to the sd card. However I'm not sure if your device has separate internal storage - for apps and the rom. I have had this issue when the internal memory was low. However there might not be this separation on your device. Try uninstalling one of your bigger apps, and seeing if this makes a difference. You can check the internal storage under settings>applications

2. I was not talking about the browser download cache (unless we are talking about the same thing). Look for "Download Manager" under settings>applications>all. Its a system app.

I dunno, I'm almost sure that installing those games had something to do with it, as I'm able to install *.apk locally from my tab, but not via the market. :) Will try uninstall all of them but dont think that uninstalling will fix it, even if it was the cause.
