I had a fibre line which I cancelled and the last day of service was end of September.
I would like to get a fibre line with Afrihost, however, due to the extensive renovations carried out at my house, the ONT box was removed and the the optic cable cut.
Do I need a new installation or would this just be a repair job, and at what cost?

New install, if there's not enough slack. Was the B number canceled or do you still have it? If not it's regarded as a new install. Costs depends on the isp

In case @AfriNatic sends out a full tech crew to the severely damaged, vandalised site that you now call home, and they are unable to repair everything, you can try:

A) 5G
B) Starlink
C) Re-housing
D) WiFi from neighbour(s)
E) Building a time machine

Not sure about the B number thing.I was with Supersonic when I cancelled and don't recall ever being provided with this number.

Hi,

Openserve only keeps a B number in the holding pool for 14 days. After that it's ceased.

In you case you would need to signup for a new install. We cover the installation fees and activation fees in full on Openserve and once the contractor comes to do the installation you can have a that with them on where you want the ONT placed and if you possibly need a new drop wire.

I tried signing up via the Afrihost website and registration for the ClientZone was required.
This step failed as a ' User already exists' message popped up.
Some years back, I had an Afrihost mobile account which is no longer active and I guess this is what caused the hold-up.

By the way, my area is covered by Vumatel trenched.

You can recover the password and by clicking on the forget password link. Once you have that login and update all your details under the my account tab.

If you do decide to go with Vumatel we charge a R1497 installation fee for Vumatel. With Openserve we cover the costs of the installation and activation.

Once you have signed up let me know via a pm what your email is and I can assist with checking that the order is successfully placed.

Thanks for the assistance, installation is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and I just got informed that the router has been configured.
