installation complaination

I am so disappoint what the telkom does...

It suppose telkom come to my home to install the ADSL...today(30 jan)

I phone this morning(0800456786) the people say the technican come to install today... when i wait until 1:30. i phone again.. and they say they will follow up. At 3:30 i phone again and even 4:30... they say they will let the other department to phone (let them contact the technican first and let me know) At the last time 5:00, i phone them again. the lady told me she contact the other department again. and she told me that sometime the technican even work between 5:00 and 8:00...

And now 7:30. no phone call for me either...

What can I do tomorrow? I spend a whole day to wait but nobody come and even phone me... How can I complain about that?
 
Telkom's plan is to impoverish the nation. They do this by
1) Charging the prices they do
2) Making people wait on them, thereby losing income from their jobs.
3) Scaring away foreign investment (see 1 above)

All part of the plan.
 
Yep, that's one of their old ways. This happens ever so often. Unfortunately not much you can do, except complaining like mad, send and email to support @ Telkom and CC every possible Telkom email address you can find.
This works sometimes. Worse case scenario they will ring you in a couple of days telling you that you cant get ADSL - all the ports in your exchange has been allocated.
 
My first installation took one and a half months.
When they told me they were installing I did not believe them. I gave them my cell phone number from the first registering of the request and said tell the techie to call me, which he did after waiting outside my place for 30 minutes. He was only 6 days late.

... then ...

I moved and they buggered everything possible to bugger up up and took 4 months to re-organise my ADSL. Once again I used the techie calls me route.

I was due for installation on the 19th Jan. I called on the 18th to confirm, i called on the 19th in the morning to confirm. I called at lunch time to see where the w@ankers were, I called at 3pm, I called at 4.30pm.

Everytime I asked if a technician had actually been allocated and they said yes everytime.

This morning I called and actually got thru (17mins of holding) to a person who knew what he was doing:

He saw I was scheduled for the 19th and that it hadnt been done. Funny thing is the technician was only assigned the job on the 23rd! So all the time they were lying to me!

Im stil waiting.
 
Strange thing with happened with me, the tech arrived 4 days b4 he was expected. Luckily there was somebody at home to let him in. I wonder how many times this happens.. the tech decides he wants to go b4 scheduled and no1s home. He then decides not to go on the scheduled date since no1 was home when he did go

Do you believe in prayer dude? The tech also rocked up here a day early, 14 days after I phoned to order on they day. The only inconvenience was that I had to que for an hour to get my modem at the Telkom shop while he was doing the installation. Never saw him that day but he left his own modem here and came to fetch it the next morning. Then he told me about all his woes working for Telkom! After that I feel we should treat these poor suffering servants with the utmost respect! As customers we suffer at the hand of Telkom now and then, these poor blokes are in the thick of it every day with no way of escape :eek:
 
I got my ADSL 8 days after the order, I was lucky in that I took the last open port on the exchange in my area.
 
This morning, i call to 0800456786 again. Tell them what they did. And they still tell me they will send a email to the other department... and let them call me back... I even call 0800600126 to complain what they did. and the lady tell me that she will phone to that other department and phone me back...

I am so tired about phone and phone , they tell me phone me back again and again... What can I do?

I think i am the lucky guy when i phone them on 6th of jan... and tell me they will install on 30th....

i read many and many about "don't trust what they say" in this forum... And finally, it is TRUTH... I am so disappointed what they did and communicate with other department...

such a hellkom.....
 
Plug ur modem, filters etc in- the line might already be connected.
I did that, and got free adsl, until the guy phoned to say he want to come for installation- 10 days later.
