Installing a telkom line

I am moving house and my new house does not have Telkom lines installed (there is Telkom infrastructure in the area but it seems it wasn't there when the house was built).

Has anyone had any experience with installing a new Telkom line?

According to the guy in the Telkom shop they take care of everything (I went to cancel it but the he convinced that it should be up and running quickly)? Can you decide where in the house the connection should be (I obviously want it next to where my router is)?

I took a simple package so I could get the free installation. The closest line was 2 houses away, so they had to come back to install a poll in my yard and then had to come back to do the wiring in my house. They asked where I wanted it and then they placed it there. I asked how much it was for a second point and he did it for me for free as he had a spare point. Also probably because I gave him food and a 2L coke.

Yes Telkom handles everything and you can choose where the point needs to go
