Installing Puppy Linux

Hi

So i followed the steps on www.puppylinux.org to download the iso file. I then used Nero to copy it to a CD. Changed the Boot settings in the Bios. Put the CD in and restarted my machine. But.... received no response.... I just got a blank screen for while, it then loaded Windows.

Anyone successfully installed Puppylinux? Or might have come across a similar problem?

Thanks

This means that either you did not burn the ISO correctly or that your boot settings are not set correctly in the BIOS.

I have no idea how Nero works but there should be an option to burn ISO to disk, burn the ISO to disk, do not copy it to disk, you need to burn the ISO to disk to make sure that it will actually boot.

The BIOS settings are plain and simple, make sure you boot from CD first.

My BIOS settings are definately correct.

I never knew theres a difference between COPYING or BURNING it to a CD. Although if i explore the CD, the entire file is there as an iso image. Ah well. il try again.

CDs can contain more layers of data than your PC normally interprets in windows, one of these which is a boot layer, copying an ISO file to a disk serves no purpose,in nero it must be set to "Burn CD Image" with the image selected ;)
