Installing/syncing a new DSTV Remote

So I was hoping someone here could help me; the DSTV forums are very much useless.

Our old DSTV remote stopped working so we bought a new one, but I have no idea how to connect/sync it with the current decoder. It's a 990/1110 model.

I`m not sure but they should all work on all decoders. The new remotes have the TV1 Tv2 etc functions, press shift + info or shift+ exit to change the TV number for the remote. shuffle through all of them and see if any of them work. Some remotes also have wheel thingy that you turn to select the tv

You need to be careful which remote you have bought if it's supposed to work with a 1110. As I discovered to my cost, the remote for the 1110 will ONLY work with the 1110 and the latest 1132 (perhaps also the 1131, not sure about that). So the 'traditional' DSTV remote you buy for about R99 anywhere is not suitable and cannot work with a 1110. The 1110/1132 remote sells in DSTV shops for about R159 last time I looked

You must get the one with the dial on the front. Just turn that dial until your decoder becomes responsive.
