hey
why does my Nokia 6170 say reconnecting and then it comes up with "you could not be logged onto the mxit service.Check that your GPRS is enabled " because my gprs works fine on everything else . its just mxit it says that
I had the same problem on my Mot 1050 using MXIT. Every time you change base stations or something the connection drops. If you left a 3G area and the phone switched to GPRS or visa versa, the connection dropped and you would have to manually reconnect all the time, sometimes it was not able to reconnect for a while. Sometimes when taking calls, the connection would drop. I had no luck in running the program in the background for anything more than maybe 2 hours if I was lucky, and that’s if I stayed in one place. Driving around would always caused the connection to drop. Sorry, don't want to bash the program, I just did not get it to work nicely on my Motorola. I do have friends however that use it and are very happy using it. They don't need it running all the time like i prefure to do!
I then started using UltraIM with great success,
http://www.mobisophy.com/,
http://www.getjar.com/products/2021/...rforMSNupdated, which I bought for USD$ 24.95. The program worked very well and I was very happy with it, I used it with great success for a few months. Most of the other programs don't have the ability to send files/photos's in an IM message. This program has the ability to auto reconnect if the connection is dropped. It also has 7 day trial, but does expire after 7 days. I would really recommend this one if you do not have a Symbian phone.
I then got my new Nokia N70 and started using Agile Messenger and I can honestly say that this program works the best. It offers all the nice features of UltraIM and more. Because it’s a Symbian version it integrates into the phone very nicely. It runs in the background all the time and will beep and even display a message indicating you have a new IM message, this happens while the app is running in the background. You can take photo's and send them onto your IM buddies. You can download it here,
http://www.agilemobile.com/products.html and they offer a 7 day trial. I have been using this program now for more than 7 days an its still working. There is currently a lifetime license you can buy for a single payment of only €19.95. I am still however waiting for it to expire. If you connect to the internet via your computer and fire up MSN, Agile Messenger shuts down on your phone which is nice!
