@wingnut771 rhing about the power and cable requirements is the only real issue. And the fact that most houses have a 60A or 80A feed.

Yeah more practicality and in the case of 60A connection almost impossible.

That will work yeah but you will lose a whole phase to just that one water heater.

Would still have 120A to play with though.

What is wrong with a normal geyser? Standing losses is about 1.5kWh per day.

They burst, use lots of power etc. I can see why he wants an instant heater. Would probably use like a 10th of normal geyser.

The logistics of getting it to work would be worth it I think.

if you want instant water heat in any kind of volume you need gas.
