Planning on tiling out my house ( currently have carpets throughout and I'm hating it)

Now what I don't hate about the carpets is it does give some form of thermal insulation from the concrete below. Any recommendations for insulation below tiles?

You get insulation boards that are typically used in conjunction with underfloor heating.. not sure how effective they would be without the underfloor heating though..

In any event, if you are looking at tiling, why not look at prices for underfloor heating as well..

I seem to recall there is a product called IsoBoard that can be used for floors. Only problem is it's going to make your floors thicker (thinnest sheet is 25mm) so you are going to have to change you skirting boards and it might bring the floor height above the door sills.

If you hate carpets, but you like their insulation..
You want tiles, assuming you don't want to do underfloor heating...

Then maybe look at laminate flooring. Better insulation than tiles and not as cold as tiles when you step on them.
