Can anyone recommend a broker who's interested in actually resolving issues and answering questions on quotations instead of just giving up and using another underwriter?

I went from Indwe to AON to Discovery (always thought this wouldn't last, under two months) - and now I'm trying to find another company... all in a year.

Was doing well with a quotation with MAU as the underwriter, but trying to get clarification on the vehicle insurance (20% higher than the 3 previous companies, and a higher excess, where the others had none, or limited), and what certain terms on the quotation meant proved to much, and the broker went for another underwriter, starting the process again with various other issues.

Another issue is brokers (I'm assuming smaller) seem unable to come close to the previous policies in terms of cost, averaging 40% more.

Maybe try Virgin Money insurance... I think it is Telesure.

I have claimed a few times and still the premiums are decent. The claims were handled quickly without having to fight.

My last claim for building damage was rejected initially, but then a simple email appeal resulted in them paying the highest quote in cash a few days later.. without having to do any paper work.

I have been with First for Women (adds ridiculous increases) and Hollard (gives no service)

Formerly Pleroma, now PSG. Near you in Blouberg road. 021 5560640. Luzinda is very helpful. Highly recommended. Been with them since the 90's.

I'd prefer a broker, thanks.

while I read that, and understand....

I was with outsurance. When my vehicle was written off by an idiot, outsurance was happy to charge me nearly R1400 insurance/m for the new vehicle. Then additional to that home and another small vehicle.

I called around and finally called santam.

Now I pay under R800 for the new car, and combined still less than outsurance was happy to charge me for both. The santam consultant was happy to answer any questions.I had, and even emailed me stuff that answered some questions in detail.

Maybe call them. You can ask for a qoute without commitment.

Santam you can get quoted through a broker :) I tried directly previously, and it was 20% more expensive doing it myself.

Same thing happened to me, when some douchebag was texting his gf and drove into my ass while I was stopped at a red traffic light.
Somehow its my fault... no longer with that insurer.
Have had them quote me repeatedly after that, they still come with insane premiums, because of that accident.
