Insurance claim question.

Hi Guys. Need some advice. My cars font bumper got nicked on few days ago. Some deep scratches . I reckon whole bumber will have to be resprayed . The lady accepted liability and was very appologetic. I got a call from her hubby saying I can take the car to his/their panelbeater and have it quoted and fixed. He did sound sincere about it. I did open a case on the day and have a case number. My question is ,should I notify my insurance and let them handle it or will I have a foot to stand on should things go wrong since I have a case number. Her car light was buggered and bumber so her damage should be much more. I dont want this to come and bite me in the .... because I acted on trust. I drive a corsa lite and lets just say it needs a little nip and tuc here and there but the bumber was fine before the accident.

You must inform your own insurers. Tell them the lady admitted responsibility.

They will ask you to get 3 quotes and maybe will suggest some places they approve of. Do not trust the other party when it comes to repairs.

correct, in this case being nice is a sure fire way of setting yourself up to get kicked in the teeth!
