Insurance conundrum

They are cheating you because that does not make sense. Not even a BMW is classified as a performance vehicle by my insurances.

Supposedly, don't look at me, go ask VW who made it a "GT".

A BMW M3 would be classed a performance vehicle. A normal one not.

Use Hippo to get a quote and then take the lowest price to Outsurance they will work out a deal for you on your budget.

I owned E92 335i and E93 335i, and now an M4. My insurance is based on value not performance car. I've used Santam and now Hollard.

It could be age related.

I bought my E90 325i at 22 and insurance classed it as a performance vehicle.

Under 25 - check
Performance vehicle - check
Colour: black - check

Pretty much anything above a 125cc motorbike engine is classed as a performance engine if you're under 25 these days... :p

With a broker at the moment, I am 20 years of age, had my license for about 2 years, I have a 2010 Kia Cerato 2.0 sedan, no accident and claims history and I am paying R740 a month.

Out of interest what is the ~ premiums pm for an M4?

2014 M4 insured for R1.3m for R2600pm. Its R2200pm plus excess waiver for R400pm.

My insurance is underwritten by Hollard through an Broker I had 2 claims on my E93 335i in last 2yrs but premiums have remained the same. The Broker is helpful vs going direct through Hollard.

JFC! I pay R860 for both my cars at rsab.co.za (under written by M&F) and yes, I have been with them side I was 18 and had a couple of claims before I turned 25 including a two vehicle write-off.

Guess I works out having low risk cars of R105k each
