Insurance In Durbs?

Hiya, I was just wondering if you guys could recommend a decent insurance company for my phone please or provide me with ideas on how to go about insuring it?

I've spoken to the company that handles my household insurance & in the event of a theft, I'll only get a % of the price of the phone, not even a replacement.

My other option is Vodashops insurance @ R79/pm which will provide me with a FULL replacement if the phones still in stock or the original market value of the phone, which I think is pretty sweet.

If anyone knows of any deals better than this, please let me know?

hi,

you need to ask them to add your phone as a 'specified portable possession' on the household policy, you will give them the replacement value of the phone, and the phone would be covered for loss/damage but if something does happen to the phone you will not necessarily be paid out on the value you have specified. If they find the phone cheaper at one of their suppliers, they will obviously opt to replace the phone for you as its cheaper for them to replace it rather than pay you out on the amount you have specified.

Thats typically how it should be covered and it should be cheaper to insure it on your household contents policy.
Different insurers do have slightly different policies regarding this type of cover.
