Short term insurance. They quoted me recently on vehicles and house content. Installments are about R20 less than the individual policies I have with Outsurance, but NO excess except on car window repair. They even replace your tv when it brakes.

Experiences with Integrisure?

Underwritten by Hollard and Santam I've been told.

I am. In fact I signed up last week. By far the cheapest insurance I could find. Moved from Indwe who used to be the cheapest. Left Indwe because of crap service.

The issue with the cheapest is that their service is also often the worst. Do some research on sites like hello peter first and see how good they are with claims. Also keep in mind that with all insurers they don't like paying out to brand new clients. If you jump insurers every few months you may save a few rands but come a serious claim you may find that you have to fight tooth and nail to get the cash. On the other hand I know people who where with one company for 20 years and when they finally did claim the company took one look at their claims/payment history and had the repair guys there within hours. Hence I have picked one and am sticking to it but every year or two I will cross quote them and bargain them down on the premium without actually changing insurers.

Not true. Its luck of the draw in my opinion. Example - Outsurance. Quoted me 5 times more than what most others were quoting. Look at hellopeter. Outsurance is crap in my opinion.

In fact, I think ALL insurance companies are crap. I might as well pay the scum the least I possibly can. All this is as stated before just my opinion of course.

Your point?

And yes some of them have quite a few good ratings. But I also know that many of those are the ones that specifically ask customers to post good reviews after they have simply done their tasks as an insurer and nothing special.

Yep, companies that have bigger advertising budgets than staff budgets are always to be avoided. Hence I stay far away from the likes of Outsurance. The model is broken.

One of the best arrangements I think is having some leverage. A while back I went with a broker that I knew a few people used. If any of us got bad service we agreed to all threaten to leave if even one of us felt stiffed. Gives you some collective bargaining might which in essence is what the broker has with the insurer anyways.

The no excess factor was worked into the quote and that is also quite a draw card. Ito hellopeter, every insurance company is on there. People have bad experiences with any insurer. It's really the luck of the draw.
