Intel develops new transistors Using 3-D structure

Would love to get a glimpse of what technology is gonna be like in 2020 :)
 
Yay, another one of these announcements! :erm:

Various people have been promising better battery life for the last 15 years.

All I know is that the battery on my Samsung Galaxy sucks really bad. :(

From what I can tell the bragging rights are related to actually rolling out this tech. Everybody else is talking 2016, Intel has it scheduled for 2011 on its roadmap. I'm guessing the actual break-through lies in how they adapted their Lith process to make this economically feasible so much sooner.
 
We haven't seen anything commercial yet - it's still very much talk.

I would love to know how they do it - 3D printing?
