Intel DQ965GF does not detect Kingston SSDNow 100V

I have done a BIOS update.
Have tried AHCI in BIOS, and Raid.

BIOS does not pickup drive.
Swapped cables. Tried different power cables. Nothing.

Any ideas?
 
Got it sorted. Amazingly I had to enable hard disk delay or something along those lines.

Set it to 5/10 seconds (the BIOS waits for the drive) and it picked it up. Weird.
 
My hapiness was short lived. BIOS does not pickup the drive again.

I have tested the drive in an external housing and it works correctly.

So I am pretty sure it's not the drive.
 
Sounds like the drive to me...

Test in another pc maybe? But external storage kits isn't really a good way to determine a bad drive.

Cool, but the reason I say I think it is the drive is because Googling the board and SSD returns no results. It seems unlikely that you are the only person on earth that ever tried that combination.

You've tried several different SATA ports? Try both SATA-3G and SATA-6G
 
At first it wasn't picked up.
Removed all other drives, picks up perfectly.
Restarted machine, picked up again.
So it looks like it's the board and the SSD but as you mentioned chances are slim that it's only me...

Pretty sure that the Intel DQ965GF doesn't have SATA-6G ports. ;)

Haha, for some reason I confused it with the Sandy Bridge board DQ67OW

That pretty much confirms it (if it isn't the same type of board). Failure in a single board, OK, but on two, there would have to be something on Google if the incompatability is that widespread.
