Hi All

This is my first post and I hope someone can point in the right direction. Im facing an issue with a Intel P55SB motherboard(I know it not current). Its not booting up with the current CPU which is a intel i5 650 :wtf:. The problem is I do not have a intel i5 7xx or intel i7 8xx series processor to complete the bios update. Do you guys know where i could go to get this done as buying a intel i5 or i7 is really expensive :erm:. Unless you might have one or know of some who has a really good deal. Thanks in advance

Check the boards compatability with the processor on Intel's website. Their boards don't play nice with their own CPU's if they're not on the tested list.

If they do have a BIOS update that solves the problem, I'm sure you can go to any PC shop that will sort it out for you.

Thanks for the responses:)

The thing was I have checked the websites and the flash process is pretty simply, however i neglected the part where you need to have a compatible processor to do the update in the first place:(. I'm not sure which pc shop to go and update it simply because i had such a problem getting a motherboard in the first place and most shops in SA didn't have a board to support the LGA1156 CPU. To top it off they weren't really helpful. Finally I had to get an import which took 6 weeks. Now that i have it, its just this small thing :wtf:. So i decided to the best way to find if there any pc shops that do it in Durban, would be at mybroadband. If you have an suggestions that had really good service, it would be highly appreciated

I will check with PC-Zone in the mean time

Which motherboard do you have? I had an Asus board that you can flash without any cpu, it has a special usb port assigned and a button you push on the board itself.

Where did you buy it from? Call the dealer or distributor and ask them if they can assist if you don't know anyone with a CPU.
