Hi everyone

My friend just bought an Intel i5 750 and Intel Hunter Cove motherboard. He is currently having problems with stability, namely:

POST screen hangs for about a minute
PC randomly reboots
CPU idle temp: 60-68c
CPU Fan RPM remains at 900 and sometimes ~1300

PC specs:
550W PSU
9800GTX+
i5 750

Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Roobir

Coubd be flaky memory, motherboard or PSU. CPU seems fine, 68 degrees aint that bad for the i5-750. Get memtest or intelburntest to check the RAM, the other 2 you'll prob have to swap out to see if they are the problem items

Oh idle... dam my reading is poor today! Yes, reseat the CPU cooler forst then. See if that helps

Definitely sounds like the CPU heatsink/fan is not seated properly, or has poor heat dissipation. Is there a setting in the BIOS to enable the fan, so it runs constantly - this might help, depending on what case cooling you have.
