Hi there...

I would like your opinions on the Intel P45 Skyberg Main Board. Can it support nVidia SLI, and what other motherboards would you recommend in the same price range as the Intel P45 Skyberg Main Board.

Thanx...

Short answer would be, buy a Asus P5Q, intel motherboards suck

The P45 chipset supports crossfire, not sli. Do you plan on overclocking? What exactly do you want to see in a motherboard? Budget?

Nothing wrong with that MB. Intel does solid and stable boards.
You can overclock with this MB. (suprise, suprise). And crossfire is a bonus. Good buy for
R1100. Buying the same one next week. Gigabyte and Asus are ungodly expensive. Waste of money IMHO. You get the same from Intel boards(not all of them) for much less.
Silverlight how much will asus or gigabyte mb with P45 chipset, that supports crossfire cost?

"One amazing thing with this board (DP45SG Skyberg) that Ive never seen was the temps. For some reason even at 3.6Ghz, im sitting at 23*C idle. Wowies. With my Asus P5Q, I was sitting in the 40's idle at those speeds.

The specs on this board are pretty good and very up to date. If it had more memory options, this board would be highly recommended by me.
It is rather inexpensive for the specs, so thats a plus also.

P5Q is R1373 at pcint. Only a few rands more than the intel p45 and its well worth the extra cash

edit

Esquire has it at R800 ex VAT

The only drawback with Intel boards is they dont have as many features as Gigabyte or
Asus

Go Jump Silverlight. Who needs all the features. VIVA INTEL. :-)
Goes for about R1100.

Pcint.co.za got them too R1155.
Which Model P5Q were you refering to that supports crossfire?

I was referring to the standard P5Q from pcint and the P5Q SE2 from esquire. The OP probably can't even buy from Frontosa, and those prices you gave are ex vat right?

If he wants a xfire board he can get the P5Q-E from Esquire for R1401 inc Vat. Thats a way better board than the Intel

And anyways, you know that the ASUS board is better than the Skyberg, so stop arguing :p

i don't see the Skyberg hitting 500 Fsb now do i

Im not arguing which is better. All Im saying is there is nothing wrong with Intel boards and they are cheaper.
You have started with " intel motherboards suck " .
I would go with Asus or Gigabyte if they were cheaper.

"P5Q-E from Esquire for R1401 inc Vat". That sounds to good to be true. But I take your word for it.

The pricing is correct and I know it is unbelievable , but the truth is that we still making a nice profit on it, even at our low pricing. :)

Last week we had every other distributors i.e. A, F, A, sending our specials and our pricing to Asus complaining that we dropping the profit margins on the products , wanted to know why we were allowed to start selling Asus products.

Some of those distributors have been enjoying making up to 25% margin on some of the boards and resellers have become accustom to paying these higher prices for those products ,
