Intel Sandy Bridge: Vastly improved integrated graphics.

Was reading the article last night, (linked it in another thread). I dont care about the GPU performance, but the CPU performs phenomenally! If the pricing is right, i5 760 so R2k and less we've got another AMD killer. Suppose it's also an Intel killer, haha :D

I can't wait for bulldozer to appear! I wanna see benchies between these new architectures!

If the price is right is a huuuuuge if. I would think Intel will charge a premium for all the K chips. And still pissed off at Intel for changing sockets by one pin. One freakin pin, sigh...

hahaha I know it's kind of pathetic! Seriously couldn't they just use the extra pin! but I think it has something to do with the on-die GPU ? But no clue.. Never designed a CPU before :o

Some LGA1156 chips have GPUs as well. I really dont see any reason (yet) why they absolutely needed to drop that one pin.

True but I'm assuming they change the GPU quite a bit for that increase in performance.

Or it's just a conspiracy between CPU and mobo manufactures to make you buy new parts..

Sounds like fun. I am only an AMD fanboy because they're budget :D

Can't wait to get my monster machine... Which will undoubtedly be Intel

The socket change has nothing to do with the extra pin. They just changed the pin layout so people don.t put the wrong cpu into the wrong board. There's probably a whole host of other differences. Anyway if you like Intel you should be used to changing sockets and spending more.

I'm looking forward to bulldozer though.
