Appears my intercom was whacked by lightning.

The guy says we can do a battery operated one that won't be hit by lightning - or the powered 220v one again.

If I do the battery one, how long does it take for the batteries to run out?
Will I replacing them every month?

How long is a piece of string?

It depends how often the intercom is used.

Maybe there is a solar powered intercom system.
