Interconnect rates

My contract expired a couple of months ago and I was planning to take out a new contract with Vodacom end of this month (been on month-month for last while). Anyway, with the move to bring interconnect rates down - will I get the benefit of the lower rates if I sign the contract now or should I wait for the new fees to be finalised? i.e. Will new interconnect rates apply to all packages, or only those taken out post rate reductions?

Um... if you read all the wallawalla about the impact of the reduction in interconnect fees then I would have to say the answer is...

Absolutely NO impact on charges and packages. It is a zero-sum cost afterall remember - or so they want us to believe.

Apparently there is no benefit to the end-user / consumer if these interconnect fees are reduced according to all the "interested" telcoms parties.
