Ive been using a Hauwei B-43 Wifi router for 4 months. From Telkom with 10GB a month. The router was working fine until a few days ago. When I plug it into my computer using the USB cable, it won't connect to Internet. "not recognised". I did a diagnostics check on it and see it is coming up as a CD ROM drive all of a sudden ???? What the ???? I took it to Telkom office this morning and the techie had the same problem on his PC when he plugged in the router. Then he took out the USB cable (which came with the router by the way) and plugged in a cellphone cable. Then the router worked again and connected to internet. He said the USB cable is faulty and thus caused the router to "think" it is a CD-ROM. I found this seriously weird. But I bought another USB cable and when I got home plugged the router into my computer and lo and behold.....internet connection. This is good to know in case it happens to anyone else. I still find it strange though because with the diagnostics check the check showed the router as being "incorrectly configured". How can this happen in the first place? And what does this have to do with a USB cable?:wtf:

One of the data line could have been damaged.

Why use a cable if its a wifi router?

That's strange.
