Lo all!
I have finally decided that i am going to get ADSL. I am not a very heavy internet user (bandwidth wise), but spend a lot of time checking emails, viewing webpages, etc. with my internet alone hitting over R1 000p/m ADSL is a better option for me!

The problem comes in with deciding on an isp. I am with Mweb at the moment, and i am not sure whether to jump over to Telkom Internet (god i hate supporting them!) or stay with Mweb.

Price wise Telkom are cheaper, but not by a hellava lot.

Do Mweb's services (Online Learning, webspace, etc.) and the fact that it isn't telkom make it worth spending the extra pennies?

Any response would be greatfully appreciated!

Hi Nick,

Call MWEB tomorrow and ask them all about adsl ..mmm

I called them yesterday to find out what they
knew about adsl. I would rather not publish what
I was told by their help desks (sales and technical).

The ISP you use makes no difference.

I have seen Storm mentioned a few times here
and what I like about them is, you can speak to
a name - a person.
I have been with them for years and have always
received personal service.
e.g. After Telkom "installed" the line I was up and
running with username/password within 5 minutes -
OK, the cap hit me soon after this.

Storm R240.00 /month
MWEB R299.00 /month

A consideration might be email name change, if this
becomes necessary, if you leave MWEB.

I know the chaps who started Storm personally - they are two professional dudes from the UK who do understand what customer service means.

My 2c for what it's worth...

Megalan had a good offer for the forum members.
Something about extra bandwidth after the cap.
Search the forums for the info.
It may be worth considering if you are going to change ISP's.

Cheers
Chris
