interesting item from new patch notes (esp for us lagged saffers)

Client spell cast requests are now sent to the server even if your player is already casting another spell. This eliminates the need for /stopcasting in macros to compensate for latency.

and not sure if this one was already in the game before:

# Vendor Discounts: All vendors with an associate faction now give discounts at all levels above neutral.

* Revered: 15% discount

Heard this wasnt working as expected.

Can anyone paste the patch notes here? I can't get access to them from work.

Awesome... now my pet will get pwnd by Nightbane

Afaik its better as long as you don't spam the cast button.

I.o.w, just watch your Quartz bar for the red bit and press cast when it hits red.

"Client spell cast requests"

>.> wont help my hunter, with the BM macro the only shot i cast is Steady and its macro'd to my autoshot

i was testing out the casting benefits this morning and it seems to work as expected, even through lag spikes spells are sent to the server and cast - sweet! :D

I've been reading up on the druid forums, and it seems this new GCD issue is a serious pain. Because of it sending the spell or ability through even if it fails, it initiates a global cooldown, thus making it impossible to immediately attack again. For instance with feral druids, I have a hard enough time trying to hit someone with 500ms and the feral range bug, which has yet to be fixed, and now they've made it pop a GCD when I fail to hit him?

This will effect all melee dps, although probably not as badly as ferals. I'd like to know if any of you guys have noticed it?

It works as expected, however there are some gameplay changes people need to adjust to.

Many of us have been doing this since time began with /stopcasting macros anyways.

Melee (esp Tanking Warriors) will have a difficult time getting used to it since most warriors simply tap (spam tap that is) their hotkey for abilities or "queue" up abilities and this won't really work anymore you will just end up looping GCD if you do that. (think how you spam shield block sometimes :P)

I think that it works better than stopcasting but Blizzard may need to look at a "fix" for melee.

tbh Reading the threads for the 60ms guys has been hilarious for instance ("omg I feel like I am playing with 150ms I am going to quit"), I have found in the last two nights because of the way I have adapted my game play around lag (i.e dont spam buttons and choose attacks wisely) that I am actually now better, in relation to my low lag peers.

Although the overall game experience has taken a turn for the worse.

Not sure about the other hunters.... my BM macro is bombed out :S
ive got that 'dont show ui errors' line in my macro, but my char keeps screaming "I need to target sumthing" when im busy nuking down VR. and the macro seems unusable for 2-3secs after ive done my auto shot part of the macro :confused:

Not sure if its just me, but ive dropped like 100dps cos of this "client side request" crap

Survival hunter here, and the new client spells have boosted my dps quite a bit! now easily topping the dps charts with 800dps in Zul'Amon

The new patch broke most people's macro's.
Hunters using the BM macro feel it the worst now.
Its been identified, and blizzard said they will fix it on the next PTR patch.

For those wondering :

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=2649576746&sid=1

The substitute macro that will work a bit better till they fix the GCD and client side queueing of macro commands are :

/castsequence reset=3 Steady Shot, Auto Shot
/startattack
/cast [exists,target=pettarget] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Will be testing it from my side, but this is the best there is out there available.

Ok tested it and confirmed... it works a LOT better than the old BM macro... keep in mind to weave a steady shot in when the macro is on cooldown, and spam arcane in between. Its very very close to the old macro with amount of shots per sec now.
