Johannesburg - While the emergency monetary policy meeting on Sunday by Turkey has managed to salvage some damage on the lira as it strengthened on Tuesday morning, talk of a similar meeting (although not likely on a Sunday) appears to be abating in South Africa.
Analysts have felt the potential emergency meeting in South Africa only served to add fuel to the fire to an already sensitive emerging market environment.
Interim rate hike 'less likely'.
