2 to 3 times a day, often just few minutes before the hour, I have a connection issue where it slows down drastically local & international. This happens with different ISP and last for 5-10 minutes. The best way to get out of it is just rebooting my Netgear router and everything is fine again as soon as the line is restored.
Could it be a hardware issue on my Netgear, seems strange since it works most of time! Telkom issue? Would a better quality router PRO range like a CISCO do a better job. I trade online on the US stocks exchange and obviously I get these cuts when I am in trade!

Thanks,
Phil

Best would be to try another router (doesn't have to be a "PRO" ranger) a netgear or anything avaliable to test with. Find out if others in the area having similar issues. Am sure more suggestions will follow :)

It's old news...
I Have had my 4MB line for almost 9 months, one day i get 3.5MB, other days i hardly get 200KB.
Telkom say it's a problem they cant fix...

IMHO, a linksys Router (Made by Cisco) is the way to go, but saying that, i have one myself.

Trying another brand router MIGHT fix your problem, and it's worth a shot.

Alternative is getting telkom to test the line when the speed drops, they might pickup something funny, and be able to see what the problem is.
Sometimes Telkom are aware of others having problems?
If you don't have the ADSL support number it's 0800 375 375.

Good luck!
