I was looking at a Seatae Baracudda - but it seems they only have 7200.11 on Kalahari (but 7200.12 on other sizes).

Do you get a 1.5TB 7200.12?

Anyone able to assist me in getting a 1.5TB Seagate 7200.12 or WD 1.5TB?-
 
I bought a 1.5 TB 7200.11 from Esquire with a CC firmware and wanted to get the flash update from Seagate for the 7200.11 series of drives. On their website it's stated that drives with the firmware starting with CC are not affected by the problem and should under no circumstances be flashed.

I got a Samsung 1.5TB Green drive from PC Zone for R999 not to long ago.

Oh right, the LPs must be "LP 5900.12s". Your post was hinting at you having a 7200.12 1.5TB - which aren't in SA, so I doubt they were ever on Prophecy.

They were. I remember because the decision wasn't that easy for me. It was like R100 more for the 7200.12.
