I bought an internal seagate 2TB hd that I want to convert into an external (i've got the case). I've put it in but it doesn't seem to work.

I've done this before and currently have a 250gb in there.

Do I maybe need another case for the bigger HD or change a setting somewhere?

Older controllers aren't always capable of handling HDDs that large. I had a previous external controller that could only handle HDDs up to 500GB. You'll probably need a new case/electronics.

I figured that it might not since it is a few years old already. I kept my 250GB external and just installed the 2TB as an internal.
Thanks:)
