Hi Guys

Would you go for a Samsung or a Hitachi 1 TB HDD

Which brand is more reliable ?

Thanks
DD

Neither - Seagate is my choice... but between those two probably the Hitachi

Whichever one is 7200 rpm.

But, yes, as my primary drive I would prefer to spend a bit more and get a Seagate.

I have never had any problems with a Seagate internal hard drive - external hard drives PLENTY!! My money is on Seagate.... ;)

I don't trust Seagate anymore. Get the Western Digital.

Well a LOT of people sure did fairly recently......

Western digital is NR1, but between those 2, I would DEF say go for samsung - they are quite reliable and stay VERY Cool

I think any will be fine, I would probablty take a Western Digital.

My 2x Samsung 1tb drives are very loud, sounds like something is wrong.

quick question while we are talking internal HDD's here

I got a good price for 2TB Hard Drives - but they aren't 7200 rpm - they are 5400rpm or something

.........

will this make a HUGE difference guys? I'm just looking for cheap storage (but it has to be hard drives)

If it's Seagate LP drives they are 5900 RPM and the WD green drives are variable RPM. They are perfectly fine for storage. Don't stress.

ya 5400/5900rpm is fine for storage, just make sure your primary OS drive is > 7200RPM

and if I launch a movie / series / bluray off of it, will it play without being choppy?

spend 2k and get a 15k raptor with its heatsink adaptor :p

oh and ssds arent too bad
tho its like a maize and some support blah blah some dont:cry::confused:
