It's fried. I've had that on a number of customer modems.

Well i just switched my pc on now and my modem was just detected as new hardware (strange?) but i cant find the cd wit the modem drivers on it. Can some1 plz give a link to dload drivers for a netodragon 56k voice modem.

Ps when i last tried to dialup i could hear the modem 'try' to dial so its not COMPLETELY dead. At least i can still use my phone as a modem.

Something else you may want to try after reinstalling the driver.
goto your control panel and open 'phone and modem' options
choose the second tab 'modems'
highlight your modem and click 'properties'
when the properties page open choose the second tab again.
at the bottom of this page you should see 'dial control' untick the option to wait for dial tone.
this will force the modem to dial regardless of if it detects a line.
if you have any call answer or call waiting services on your line you should also untick this box as those services will cause you to get a broken dial tone and the modem wont detect it.
