I am desperately trying to find out why Android reports my internal storage as only having 85 meg available but when connected to my PC shows 500 megs.

I am trying to install a game and it just wont let me. I have manually gone and cleared the cache of every installed app. I have moved all the apps to the SD card that would allow me and still I am unable to install anything at all.

Is there a way for a game to be forced to install on the SD?

It would help if you told us which phone you have.

Looks like you can use a 64 gig mem card. Not much info on internal storage.

Not without rooting. Problem is even then it won't pass the install check initially so you'd have to move or temporarily deinstall some other things first.

Is there a way to upgrade the internal memory of the device without rooting? Some kind of memory upgrade?

Most definitely, you start by buying any new phone with more memory in it.
You then copy all your data over from the old device.
Finally, you sell the old device.

If you can find a way to do that, you'll be rich instantly....

On a more serious note than my last.

It is highly possible to achieve such a result, it does however require you to be an electrical engineer and get your hands on a replacement SD chip.

You could then do a NAND backup of the original device, this would still require root (I am 99% sure).
Once you have removed the existing chip, you simply solder on the new one and restore your NAND backup.

My more sarcastic reply above however is far more feasible and possible.
