Internasional down?

International extremely slow down here in the Western Cape. Several sites are timing out for me.

Woweeeee it smells like they've blocked a bunch of high-traffic IPs. Perhaps they're "falling back" to a 56K line and it can't handle the traffic.

Did these guys not learn about "redundancy" in high school?

Call Reference ID : STT000000004714
Failure Type : Network Failure

Resolution Description : Under invesstigtion

Status : New

"invesstigtion" must be a South African / Telkom word.

Definition invesstigtion: We have no clue what is wrong, work finished at 5pm so screw you, we will continue invesstigtion in the morning...

Which is why it's good to have an IS account as backup. In my case I have an SAIX account as backup, so if IS goes down I'm screwed either way :(

mine's 50/50 meaning that only half the Internet is down for me ;)

the funny thing is when I cahnge my DNS servers some of the sites that are down start loading /insert head scratching smiley/

The DNS servers probably try different routes to get to the servers.
