Ditto for you ..and I'm just up the road from you in Craighall connected, AFAIK, to the Hyde Park site. Just para-loaded Boing Boing, Mazezine and Bit-tech 'n watched the WAN traffic on my router max out around the 102 kBps mark.

Maybe you overloaded his part of iBurst? :)

you check your MTU :D lol

I'm also using the Hyde Park tower, but when I got home it was 10pm and everything was working fine... maybe your tower got load shedded?

MTU on ppp0 is 1352, and on eth1 its 1492.

If I plug the modem in directly to my notebook its fast again *sigh*. Time to try a different distro...

eth1 should be 1500, yes? Its local lan port that does nothing fancy?
Standard for your network port on any distro and in 99% of conditions should be MTU 1500. 1492 is the standard for PPPoE. iBurst are 'speshul' (yes i know its not spelled correctly, its for effect) and so require MTU of 1410 minimum for any kind of usability. For complete functionality use 1352, although I use 1360.
