International down?

Anybody experiencing problems connecting to international sites? I'm on Axxess and made sure I wasn't capped, but I can't connect to slashdot.org and gmail.com etc.

Yep, my international access has been having problems for the last 30 minutes or so. I'm pretty close to my cap but hadn't hit it this morning.

One can understand an occassional monthly failure, but for the last 3 weeks, we've been having this ****.

Did you guys not hear their was an undersea volcanic eruption that has severed the fibre optic cable.

Telkom are waiting for permission from Lord Neptune before their engineers can get onsite.

Just spoke to Axxess, did some trace rt and apperently saix says one of their atm links is down. Apperently it will be up soon. Lets hope so.

This is so f@cking irritating - I can't afford this kinda **** right now, got domains busy transferring, tons of online research to do and limited time.

I think all this downtime is a result of plenty of new customers coming online, rather than actual faults - why suddenly over the last few weeks is all this k@k happening ?

Telkom Infrastructure

Some local telkom folk told me recently that the atm network needs to be upgraded in varuis places. The link between PMB and JHB is going from 34mbs to 150mbs soon. Apparently large number of ADSl users have moved to the new 1024, more than was expected.

Hope it all upgraded soon.
