I seem to be losing international connectivity intermittently tonight, and when it is available latency is very high - is anyone else experiencing this?

In much the same way as the problem of a week or so ago, I can access Google, but anything else international I cannot reach...

This is happening more and more often. The last two weeks the service seems to have significantly degraded.

Last time it happened we lost connectivity to the US sites but UK, etc. was fine.

Are you seeing the same thing? Can you browse sites you know are located on each continent?

3G connectivity problems, link stability: Durban

Hi there V3G,

Is there any problem currently in the Durban area? Since yesterday, my connection has been very unstable, and extremely slow.

I am in the westville area.

Network status

Hi V3G,

Does Vodacom have a site or phone resource where current network failure /slowdown areas etc are listed?

Got the same. Could Google but could not access international sites. I knew there was a problem when I couldn't access www.mysql.com.

I have had perfect service for 6 months now and now it is falling apart.

General slowness evident in Grootbrak (Mossel Bay area). Local links better than international.

@v3g yes it was much the same problem as a few weeks ago it started happening at about 19:00 last night then worked again for a while before getting really slow later.

Believe it or not 155 called me back on the right number within a few minutes of leaving a callback!!! It must be xmas or somethinh!

I experienced the same on my home adsl line yesterday - one minute international is fine and the next it is knackered. Seems a bit better this morning. My ISP uses IS for their international so possibly there is a general problem affecting SAIX and IS?

Maybe someone is trying to steal the undersea cable or satellite dishes used for international to sell for scrap :D
