International Prepaid Sim Cards

Does anybody know of a site on information about prepaid sim cards when visiting overseas?

Data roaming us a killer so I always try buy a local prepaid sim card when I arrive at the airport - but it is always a challenge to get the right information and options when it comes to data!

I prefer a prepaid blackberry sim but not all countries offer and limited offer BES. Micro sims are also a challenge unless you go to a store. And documentation required varies.

Dubai - du seem the easiest but no BES, Nigeria you need a local to get.

Anybody have experience for France or Germany?

What I suggest is you find the local carriers for those countries and go to their websites and see what they offer. Data offerings are cheap in Hong Kong actually, but usually sick all the way around the world. Very few places offer BIS and almost none would offer BES, but if you get a mifi and a local sim, then u can always use BIS/BES over wifi off the 3G connection!

I agree with phiber a mifi device always world for me. I just stick in the local sim card and all my devices conne t tobthat works like a charm.

Anybody know if I can get a microsim in the US and use in my iPad 1 on prepaid? I will cut down the sim myself (if necessary) as well.

Check on Verizon and AT&T's websites and see if they offer data packages on prepaid, i'm pretty sure they would, but these guys all publish on their websites.
