So I was travelling to Kenya a month ago and remembered last minute that some networks needs to be manually provisioned for roaming before leaving the country and in the case of Telkom to my horror I realised I have to fill in a length PDF form and after submitting it there is a waiting period and I have to submit it way before my departure date. I couldn't do that and spent a week without access to my calls. Thankfully I had access to WiFi most of the time. My second phone on MTN connected automatically to Safaricom. I am travelling for longer now and will definitely need access to my phone and I am so not looking to a PDF form that I will probably be asked to fax or even send via telex. Now if MTN can roam automatically with zero effort on my part why do I have to do this naked samba dance during a half moon in front of a dozen virg1ns for Telkom?

Each network is different, just do the necessary paperwork when you take out the contract. Did it on every contract I've ever had and always roamed without issue.
