International Roaming

The SO and I are off on a trip to Australia on Friday for three weeks and I want to confirm that international roaming is not allowed on my Vodacom SIM. Searching Vodacom's website as well as the app has been like trying to raise the Titanic, does anybody know where I can check besides calling them?
 
What type of roaming? Just use wifi calling if you need to get SMS or make phone calls.

For data get a local sim.

If wifi calling is enabled then roaming has to be disabled on vodacom, and it allows you to still get your calls and sms without a worry of extra cost.

But go ahead and do whatever you were going to do I am sure you are much clevererest.

Also if you don't want roaming just don't take your Vodacom sim along genius or just leave your phone in airplane mode when you are there or take the Sim out there.

@whatwhat - I asked a simple question, whether there is a way that I could simply check if my Vodacom SIM is disabled for international roaming without having to call Vodacom. If you are unable to answer then please say so, although I do appreciate the input on how to manage communication via my phone when in Australia, it wasn't what I was looking for when I posted my question.

Sms roamstatus to 123

If you are contract you need a roaming agreement. So if you didn't sign that it won't be active.
If on prepaid it's normally active by default.

Thanks, i got the following reply from 123...

'The 123 service is no longer available. Dial *111*733# to continue'

...which doesn't work so I will just have to call them. I don't remember signing anything when I took out the contract nearly three years ago so it should not be active. I am not taking any chances with Vodacom though in case I leave my SIM in and switch the phone on. I will get a local SIM like I did the last time, it was cheap enough and we are there for three weeks.
