International speed sucks!

Hi there guys

Anybody else experience extraordinarily slow International access? It started this afternoon and just sucks at the moment [V]. Round about 20h19 now on Monday 26th Jan 2004. I have not reached my cap yet. Halfway at the moment. Can it have anything to do with the upgrades somebody mentioned somewhere else on this forum about 2 weeks ago?

Anybody have a clue? [xx(]

I have experienced the same problems since Friday and I am also not capped. The slow speeds includes web browsing. I somehow seem to recall that this seems to be normal for Telkom near month-end(except last month which generally was superb compared to the rest) and I am starting to think that the dreaded cap was invented as a smokescreen for an always slow connection(because of other factors such as big business month-end traffic) at month-end regardless of whether you have reached your 3gb limit or not.

My problems started about the same time as yours. I've had ADSL since the rollout, and it's never been like this. I'm nowhere near the cap, but tracert to any servers gives timeouts, so I think one of telkom's routers is down. I've sent an email to customer support a few days ago, but no response.

Yeah international sucks but i dont mind the cap. I just wish they would make the international speeds a bit higher. About 3 kb/s at least, so that you can actually do something on international sites without getting timed out the whole time.
