International very slow

International crawling

My international seems to be crawling today. Google seems to take forever to load. Anybody else having the same problem ? Spoke to the helpdesk at SAIX. They have no knowledge of any problems.

De ja vu...

Don't know if this would have anything to do with it but the UK had a high number of backbones fall over today around lunchtime - mostly connectivity provided by Virgin was affected it would seem. At least thats what people I know there said.

SAIX routes via london so there is likely a connection between the slowness here and the failures there.

Anyone having problems today on UUNet? I'm pinging Google with results in the 1500ms region and one of my mambo sites hosted in the states is being incredibly slow to load up.

There's nothing seemingly relevant on the UUNet notice board.

Thats very common during working hours those last days. The only explanation given, was that they had a DDOS Attck on their server and a further upgrade will be discussed. But this explanation is quite old already. It has been on the UUNET page 10 days ago.

It's making it very tedious to get work done, at least on the mambo site. I envisage yet another late night work session when the lines are decent.

Anyone on UUNet noticing any packet loss? I'm losing 26% pinging google.com

--- www.l.google.com ping statistics ---
50 packets transmitted, 37 packets received, 26% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 503.383/523.947/542.419/10.223 ms

--- www.powweb.com ping statistics ---
50 packets transmitted, 33 packets received, 34% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 465.684/479.397/505.911/10.287 ms

--- www.bbc.net.uk ping statistics ---
