internet access in the Congo

A friend of mine's dad is there, think the best they could get was Satellite, but you might be lucky to get EDGE or something similar if you close to a big "city", DRC or Congo Brazzaville?Satellite will probably be your best bet.
 
My dad also recently got "stationed" there to work for a big mining company and there's almost 0 EDGE coverage where he is and VSAT is too expensive for his personal usage.


Do you know of any alternatives?
